Configuring your USB-BOB
Considerations to take into account when configuring your USB-BOB
Location – Where will the controls be most efficient?
Enclosure Type – Operator Panel or Separate Enclosure? Fixed Location or Moveable?
Functions – What functions/buttons do you want to include for the operator?
Interface – What type of controls will you use to provide input to the USB-BOB?
Indicators – What type of indicators will be on the panel for the Operator?
Dimensioning the Operator Interface
The USB-BOB has 12 user interface inputs with LED outputs, 3 MPG inputs, 3 included rotary encoder inputs with push button switches and a connected status LED output.
I created a dimensioning spreadsheet to assist with the design and wiring of the BOB.
This assists with determining the type of controls and indicators which can be utilized for the BOB without exhausting inputs and indicators. A second USB-BOB can be added for additional inputs and indicators.

You may go thru a few iterations of control design. The Centroid Wizard makes it easy to adjust and adapt throughout the process..
