I received the USB-BOB Kit from Centroid free of charge as part of the Alpha-Testing program.

My goal was to interface it to the Centroid Acorn to provide an efficient control interface for the CNC Router and help simplify repetitive functions while running production jobs .

For my application I wanted a joystick control which allowed jogging in X & Y simultaneously, Jog Step Control, Cycle Control, Spindle Control, and Z – Zero to Plate for zeroing varying stock prior to machining.

I set up the USB-BOB on the bench using a 3D printed holder hot glued to a backboard and used breadboards to temporarily interface between components, controls, LED Indicators, and switches to confirm proper operation. This allowed easy access to test points and connectors during the bench test process and configuring inputs using the Acorn Wizard interface.
